Here’s what you missed: Since 2010, Women Helping Women Hong Kong (WHWHK) has helped thousands of abused women and children in the city. This year, the organisation held a charity concert hosted by musician and TV presenter Lily Hong at which some of the city's most prominent businesspeople took to the stage to sing renditions of popular songs. The first on the mic was songbird Clara Li, who belted out her hit tune If You Could Believe, followed by Kenneth Gaw, who joined Hong Kong hitmaker Joyce Lee to duet Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion’s The Prayer. Next up, Mahnaz’s husband David, James Louey and Ronald Kwok showed no signs of stage fright as they each performed solos, belting out classic hits including The Impossible Dream by Frank Sinatra and Richard Marx’s Right Here Waiting. Other performers included Linda Wong, Jennifer Cheng and the Hong Kong-based American a capella quartet Metro Vocal Group. The grand finale saw all the crooners gather on stage to perform Dionne Warwick’s That’s What Friends Are For. A terrific song choice epitomising a loyal—and fearless—tribe of friends.
