What does the Chloé girl who wears ethereal chiffon dresses in the summer change into for winter? Airy blouses, high-waisted straight trousers and fur-collared leather trenches. There were Peter Pan collars in shearling, ribbon details on the waist and neck scarves that perpetuated the 70s vibe and the tiny, multi-pocketed crossbody bags are sure to be a hit next season. Front row stars like Lucy Boyton and Katie Holmes seemed to be fans.

The Roger Vivier Maison put on another immersive experience to introduce the fall collection, this time around the theme of the five senses. Each room elaborated on a sense, be it a pink fur-filled room with two purring humanoid cats where feathery pieces and the Miss Roger Vivier shoulder bag was displayed or the sound room where an actor was performing ASMR live by scratching rubber soles.

The sixth sense room featured a fortune teller alongside their bedazzled over-the-knee boots which took 100 hours to make and finally the cake room where guests tried several confections had ornate purses adorned with crystals and pearls which were designed with couture-esque precision.

Thin wires were Ann’s new favourite detail, coiling around the bus or hinged on shoulders to form makeshift shoulder pads. The rest were made into headpieces with feathers fluttering at the end. Delicate draping continues to be a highlight of the pieces, alongside apron-string details in the back for many skirt-over-leather-trousers combos. Velvets in greens and reds were also welcome, wintery touches.

As the manmade smoke began creeping over the runway, models in high asymmetrical slitted knits wore raincoats with shearling underlays, mainly in blacks or sky-blue hues. Other mini-dresses came with tall, cyborg-esque shoulders paired with gloves and sky-high platforms with PVC heels. But the show-stoppers were definitely the sweeping quilted capes which cut the smokes with each dramatic swoosh.

Wide shoulders and cinched waists continue to be the label’s bread and butter, made cosy for fall quilted, curtain print cropped jackets, shearling vests and teddy coats. There were covetable ponchos and pearl-embellished velvet pieces but the cracked patchwork boots were definitely the coolest addition to the lineup.
