Opened by Rebecca Schrage in 2014, Schragels has been the leading New York-style bagel supplier in Hong Kong since its opening. All bagels are handmade, kettle boiled and stone-baked each morning to ensure freshness.
While Schragels has long been supplying the city with fresh bagels at places such as City Super, Elephant Grounds, Feather and Bone, Grand Hyatt and The Peninsula, alongside its small takeaway only shop in Sheung Wan, they finally opened a larger cafe in Central in summer 2020, making their bagels even more accessible.
Try one of their signature bagel flavours which includes plain, poppy seed, sesame, onion, everything, cinnamon raisin and a miniature junior-sized plain bagel for your little one. For schmears, choose from one of their three options: plain cream cheese, honey and pecan or scallion schmear. If you’re looking for something more filling, try one of their bagel sandwiches such as the beef pastrami and sauerkraut SchReuben; the smoked salmon and scallion schmear Loxy Lady; or go for one of their all-day-breakfast choices such as the Egg Schalad, which comes with their house-made egg salad, tomato, cucumber and chives.
